VMware Administrator /NDU

Location:Fort McNair, Washington, DC

The VMware Administrator is responsible for day to day operations as well as supporting the virtualization platforms, including implementations and upgrades. As a VMware Administrator, working with a team is essential. This position shall also monitor daily events and alerts generated from the Datacenter virtual products and take appropriate action. 


  • Work with VMware ESXi 5.5 and above in a highly secure environment

  • Work with vSphere 6.x

  • Migrate from ESXi 5.5 to 6.x

  • Expertise with VMWare tools and utilities and Security and Compliance

  • Need to have familiarity with Desktop Virtualization technologies

  • Storage Area Network (SAN) management specifically with EMC Systems

  • VMWare Maintenance

  • Windows and Linux patching technologies

  • Windows Server 2012/2016 Server Technology

  • Microsoft Active Directory

  • Work experience with vSphere systems administration and support including VMotion, HA, DRS, VDS, Affinity rules, VCenter, storage migrations, and P2V migrations

  • Experience with vSphere problem determination, capacity planning and root cause analysis

  • Work experience with vSphere Thin Provisioning, Resource Pools, Host Profiles, and EMC plug-ins

  • Work experience with vSphere Distributed Switch and powershell/PowerCli

  • Document any new or changes to the environment

  • Perform other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to receive or maintain a Clearance

  • 3 or more years of experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter

  • 5 or more years of experience with Windows and UNIX/Linux Operating Systems

  • VMware Certified Professional 6 (VCP) (Required Certification)
