Senior VMWare Horizon/vSAN SME

Provide SME level troubleshooting on all technical matters related to VMware Horizon 7.x at Fort Meade.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert on technical matters related to VMware Horizon 7.x

  • Installs configures and administers large complex Horizon VDI environments

  • Analyzes logs, tracks and resolves complex issues using tools like vROPs, Stratusphere, Aternity, and others tools

  • Will be scripting and uses automation to streamline operations

  • Works with other teams (i.e. networking, storage, server operations, and security)

  • Provides on-site support to unclassified and classified environments

  • Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED OR equivalent practical experience

  • 8 or more years’ experience VMWare Horizon relevant to this position 

  • Must have prior vSAN experience

  • Must be able to receive and maintain a personnel security

  • Must have prior experience with installing, configuring, large complex Horizon VDI environments

  • Must have prior experience with vSphere and vCenter

  • Strong knowledge of the VDI image build process and management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of networking including VLAN, switching, and VDI ports/protocols

  • Be able to multitask multiple projects and prioritize work to support mission and customer requirements

  • Familiar with thin and zero clients

  • Solid understanding of Windows Active Directory, SCCM, and GPOs

  • Experience with vSphere and vCenter consolidation and upgrades

Travel Requirements

  • Able and willing to travel 50%
