Cyber Security Specialist (Level 2)/Fort Gordon

As a Cyber Security Specialist, the individual will be responsible for providing cyber security guidance on system engineering efforts. In this role, the Cyber Security Specialist will make recommendations on solutions, including hardware and software requirements, to solve networking problems. The Cyber Security Specialist shall also provide documented feedback on Customer-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) products. Other duties include assisting in Risk Management Framework (RMF) related question.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct FISMA assessments of cybersecurity control compliance in accordance with DoDI 8500.01, DoDI 8510.01, CNSSI 1253 and the Cybersecurity Strategy.

  • Army Regulations (AR 25-2)

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports describing the task status in accordance to report template.

  • Assists various program teams in capturing and refining security engineering and program protection requirements, integrating requirements into system designs, and ensuring program compliance with government requirements.

  • Coordinates system security engineering and program protection activities with internal program teams, leadership, and external organizations.

  • Leads or supports program team meetings, working groups, and reviews.

  • Performs system security evaluations and security architecture analyses to evaluate the technical implementation of the security design.

  • Develops, reviews, and analyzes various system security engineering and program protection documents and presentation materials.

  • Conducts risk assessments, analyzes results, recommends mitigations/countermeasures to address defined risks.

  • Supports CT&E or DT&E activities of system security engineering and program protection activities.

  • Draft authorization artifacts in accordance with customer requirements.

  • Act as the Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert

  • Consult in other projects when needed

  • Continue education and learning new and evolving technology

  • All other duties assigned by OSC and governing contract office

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to receive or maintain a Clearance

  • Bachelor degree in science, engineering, or another technical field

  • Minimum 3-5 years cybersecurity professional experience

  • Must have an active DoDI 8570.01 IAM II certification or CISSP, CASP, CSSLP

  • Exposure to IT governance, risk management, and compliance practices
