Cyber Security Specialist (Level 2)/ Fort Gordon

As a Cyber Security Specialist, the individual will be responsible for providing cyber security guidance on system engineering efforts. In this role, the Cyber Security Specialist will make recommendations on solutions, including hardware and software requirements, to solve networking problems. The Cyber Security Specialist shall also provide documented feedback on Customer-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) products. Other duties include assisting in Risk Management Framework (RMF) related question.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance, working on a military base

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate cybersecurity engineering

  • Demonstrate understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle in support of transport, cyber security systems development or sustainment activities

  • Understand various network technologies, datacenter and enterprise implementations

  • Demonstrate understanding in DoD Army RMF Authorizations

  • Demonstrate understanding of information systems security and application security policies and procedures (Security Technical Implementation Guides [STIG], Information

  • Perform systems engineering activities in support of on-going programs

  • Work with external industry and Govt. stakeholders in the resolution of engineering systems issues

  • Develop requirements for systems and subsystems

  • Prepare for and conduct design reviews

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on updated mission tasks

  • Assist in organizing/attending any meeting, working groups, pilots, or seminars

  • Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 5 years of Cyber Security experience

  • Knowledge of Assurance Vulnerability Management [IAVM] and Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA)

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members, external vendors, various levels of management and internal clients with assorted levels of computer experience

  • Able to work independently and demonstrate strong initiative and an ability to organize daily tasks with minimal supervision
