As a Cyber Security Analyst, the individual will work with a team of other Cyber Security Analysts and a Cyber Security Manager for The National Defense University (NDU) Information Technology Directorate (IDT) cyber security team.   The Analyst will be responsible for assisting the operations team with compliance issues as well as providing guidance, research, and teaching when necessary.  In addition, the individual will also attend and lead meetings, develop cyber security reports, work with the team in a collaborative relationship with the government and other contractors to develop risk assessments and scan/check for system vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and/or reviews RMF artifacts (e.g. SSP, POA&M, MOU/MOA, topology, network architecture, PPSM, policies and procedures, HW/SW lists.) for RMF compliance
  • Conducts FISMA assessments of cybersecurity control compliance in accordance with DoDI 8500.01, DoDI 8510.01, CNSSI 1253 and the Cybersecurity Strategy
  • Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing task and responsibility status
  • Supports Cybersecurity Test & Evaluation (CT&E) or Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) activities of system security engineering and program protection activities
  • Drafts authorization artifacts in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Acts as the Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Consults on other projects when needed
  • Continues education and learning of new and evolving technologies
  • Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years cybersecurity professional experience
  • Current Security+ Certification or higher required
  • Current DISA ACAS Certification
  • Must have knowledge of network, physical, systems and application security practices
  • Must be familiar with intrusion detection and prevention measures and practices
  • Must be familiar with HBSS, Nessus, SIEM, spam filtering applications
  • Prior experience with DoD, NIST, RMF and FedRAMP processes
  • Must have an active DoDI 8570.01 / IAM I certification
  • Must be able to receive or maintain active Personnel Security Clearance
