Cyber Security Analyst II

Location:Washington, DC

The Cyber Security Analyst II will work with The National Defense University Information Technology Directorate cyber security team.  The candidate must be familiar with DoD, NIST, and FedRAMP processes.  The candidate should be able to work and provide guidance to a team and assist operations on cyber security compliance issues.  The candidate will have to attend meetings, develop cyber security reports, and be familiar with DoD RMF assessment procedures


  • Conduct FISMA assessments of cybersecurity control compliance in accordance with DoDI 8500.01, DoDI 8510.01, CNSSI 1253 and the Cybersecurity Strategy.

  • Have knowledge in network, physical, systems and application security practices.

  • Must be familiar with HBSS, Nessus, SIEM, spam filtering applications

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports describing the task status in accordance to report template.

  • Review RMF artifacts (e.g. SSP, POA&M, MOU/MOA, topology, network architecture, PPSM, policies and procedures, HW/SW lists.) for RMF compliance.

  • Supports CT&E or DT&E activities of system security engineering and program protection activities.

  • Draft authorization artifacts in accordance with customer requirements.

  • Act as the Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert

  • Consult in other projects when needed

  • Continue education and learning new and evolving technology

  • All other duties as assigned by OSC and governing contract office

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to Receive or Maintain Clearance

  • Associate degree in science, engineering, or another technical field

  • Minimum 5-10 years cybersecurity professional experience

  • Must have an active DoDI 8570.01 IAM II certification

  • Exposure to IT governance, risk management, and compliance practices
