As an ACAS Engineer,  the individual will be responsible for infrastructure support and management of the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), analyzing vulnerability scanning activities and tracking and reporting on vulnerabilities to include Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) submittals as required.  

Responsibilities

  • Implements, supports, and maintains the organization's ACAS systems
  • Adapts existing infrastructure (both ACAS application and related hardware) and processes to meet exigent needs of ACAS operations 
  • Trains team members on the execution of new/updated processes for scalable and repeatable updates and maintenance of ACAS applications 
  • Integrates performance monitoring metrics into larger monitoring software to identify problems in advance of customer notification 
  • Evaluates successful implementation of established processes and procedures for updating and maintaining the ACAS applications 
  • Provides technical support and recommendations for course of action in recurring status meetings regarding ACAS operation, planning and deployment efforts (including version and patching updates) 
  • Resolves scan zone overlaps, outages, and application health issues scanning issues False positives, configuration problems, and authentication issues 
  • Submits tickets for problems with ACAS systems communicating both internally and with customer devices and interfaces with Tenable regarding troubleshooting efforts and feature requests 
  • Performs DISA STIGS on applicable systems
  • Assists Linux users and groups to identify and rectify client issues
  • Automates installation with Kickstart and schedule future Linux tasks
  • Analyzes vulnerabilities, scan results and provides subsequent reporting using the ACAS application 
  • Maintains existing standard operational procedure (SOP) documentation and drafting new SOPs and other documentation as necessary 
  • Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • Five (5) or more years of direct experience with ACAS implementation and operation
  • Must possess demonstrable expertise in the Linux operating system (Enterprise Linux, either RHEL or CentOS) or Network engineering
  • Must have prior experience in network configuration, troubleshooting, and patching, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and server configuration
  • Prior experience with AWS cloud services and automation
  • Must be Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification
  • Must be DoD 8570.01-M certified with a Security+ Certification or Higher
  • Prior experience with DoD or policies and procedures
  • Must be able to receive or maintain a Secret Personnel Clearance
