As a CCNA Instructor, the individual will be responsible for providing quality instruction to students according to program objectives. In this role, the Instructor will also utilize services of existing third-party government or commercial organizations associated with the Leader Network Operations College to deliver or assist with delivery of training requirements. 

Responsibilities

  • Presents approved instruction and applies the current program of instruction (POI) in each of the courses as required
  • Conducts training indoors and outdoors, as determined by the COR
  • Maintains classroom presentation equipment and classroom furniture, as prescribed
  • Conducts testing in subjects taught, to include grading of exams, evaluation of results, and recording of exam results and the conduct of after-action reviews (AARs) with students
  • Maintains established classroom security requirements and procedures as prescribed
  • Maintains a consistent and above average instructor evaluation
  • Develops, researches, and maintains new and existing IA courseware
  • Maintains and reports student attendance, records and statistics
  • Stays current with required industry certifications and provide a copy of certifications to the COR
  • Provides students with evaluation sheets, administer and enforce test control standards, and conduct testing in subjects taught, to include grading of exams, evaluation of results, recording of exam result, and administer student critiques for courses
  • Audits and edits all developed courseware for accuracy, completeness, flow, balance, and clarity of understanding, as determined by the COR
  • Revises, updates, or develops and implements new courseware and materials
  • Reviews the current POI and Lesson Plans (LP) as required together with other pertinent documents, e.g. student handouts, slides, practical exercises, in order to revise, create, or update the documentation and curriculum to reflect current or emerging course needs
  • Collects, maintains, and analyzes student and customer feedback
  • Collaborates with government personnel to establish acceptable instructor practices and student evaluation criteria
  • Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience

  • Must be certified in the Faculty Development Program (FDP‐1), the Instructor Training Course (ITC) or equivalent (preferably within the last five years)
  • Must be certified in a Support Cadre Training Course
  • Must be accredited to instruct CCNA Routing and Switching through a Cisco Networking Academy Instructor Training Center (ITC)
  • Successful completion of an Instructor training courses for CCNA Routing and Switching Introduction to Networks (ITN), Routing and Switching Essentials, Scaling Networks and Connecting Networks plus Cisco Network Academy Orientation course within the last eighteen months
  • Must have a minimum of six months experience instructing Cisco Networking Academy CCNA Exploration and/or CCNA Routing and Switch course materials
  • Must have advanced presentation speaking skills
  • Must have working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Must possess a CCNA Certification or higher (Cisco networking certification must be less than two years old)
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills 
  • Must have and be able to maintain an active Secret clearance
